Finally! I have to admit that one of the
things that I was most anxious to get back to here
at SOTO was the film section. Sure, I don't
necessarily post a ton of content here, but this
column and any of the other few that I do really go
a long way towards helping me keep up with that
active world.
Anyhow, let's get on with the return of sweet movie
news! Read on.

The Rundown -
As if they
were trying to please me directly, Stephen Chow (Kung
Fu Hustle) has been announced as the director of the
upcoming Green Hornet movie. He will also
co-star with Seth Rogen.
Avi Arad has optioned the rights to make a movie based
on the video game Mass Effect.
Universal has turned down an offer to co-finance Steven
Spielberg and Peter Jackion's Tintin project.
Paramount will instead supply all the money.
Jude Law is in negotiations to star as Watson in Guy
Ritchie's upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie.
Robert Downey Jr. has already signed on to play the
title character.
Tobey Maguire has reportedly signed a $50 million dollar
deal to shoot back to back Spiderman films.
Edward Norton recently commented that he has no idea if
Marvel wants to do another Hulk movie.
Word has it that Brett Ratner is wanted as the director
of the long in development Conan.
The original is one of my all-time favorite guilty
pleasures, so I'm thrilled that Vin Diesel is in talks
to do another entry in the XXX series.
Ed Harris has mentioned that he would like to do a
sequel to the upcoming Appaloosa.
Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau will co-star in Couples
Retreat. Supposedly, it's about couples who go
on a trip to a tropical island and end up being forced
to undertake relationship therapy.
Nicole Kidman will star in The Eighth Wonder,
which is said to be a grittier version of Indiana
Jones.
Bruce Willis has signed on Owen Wilson and Kieran Culkin
to star along side him in his directorial debut,
Three Stories About Joan.
In what is easily the best news of the week, David
Hasselhoff is reportedly set to be featured in a sequel
to Beverly Hills Ninja.
