To be honest,
last night's show was not the greatest Lovely Sparrows
performance ever. They were clearly adjusting to being
a three-piece (this is a recent change from having six
musicians), the guy mixing the sound didn't seem to know
that the band isn't one that you turn to 11 and there was an
instrument malfunction that caused them to have to alter the
set list on the fly. Bummer.
I really have
to give this Seattle act some credit. The crowd wasn't
huge at Emo's (after all, it was a Tuesday), so they could
have easily turned in an OK performance that would have left
everyone feeling solid. Instead, they put forth all
kinds of great effort, and I thought it resulted in a
stellar set that had the people in attendance ready to spend
the rest of the night singing and dancing.
