Well, tonight I'm off to see TV
On The Radio at Stubb's. My plan is to go and do nothing but have the
sort of fun that doesn't involve a camera and a note pad, so don't expect
anything more than a sentence or two about how it all went down.
Should be good though. Anyone else planning on going? At any
rate, let's get on with some new material from Rose Elinor Dougall.
You probably don't recognize the name, but if I refer to her as Rosay and
mention that she used to be 1/3 of the Pipettes then I think you'll see an
immediate reason to be excited. Below is her first single on her
lonesome, and the 7" that you'll be able to find it on will be out on Rough
Trade and Normans Records in December. Only 500 will be available, so
don't miss out! Enjoy.

Elinor Dougall - Another Version Of Pop Song:
I really can't say that I had any sort of idea as to what
Rose's solo material would sound like, so I had nothing but hope that it would be
good when I gave it the first listen. And? Well, I think it's fantastic.
There's still this sort of inherent sweetness in her voice
and the way that she writes, and, most importantly, it's
still great pop music. Maybe it doesn't have that same
instant hit of spunk that was in every Pipettes' track, but
this would definitely be difficult to make any better than
it already is. I'd even say it's one of my favorite
songs of 2008. Listen to it now.
Rose hasn't
been going it alone long enough to have anything that's just
her on Youtube, so I went with something from her days in
the Pipettes. The song is called Pull Shapes.
