I'm aware that things will be
shooting back up into the mid-80s before the week ends, but isn't the cooler
weather completely awesome? I mean, I feel like I can go to a show now
and not come out completely drenched in sweat, which is pretty nice.
Come on Winter! In non-weather related news, today I have an
Austin-based act by the name of Honey Claws. There are a lot of bands
here in town, so it normally doesn't surprise me when there's one that I've
never heard of, but these guys are good enough to have me wondering why I've
never come across them. Strange, I tell you! Anyhow, if you like
what you hear you can get their debut full length on iTunes as soon as you
would like. As for a physical copy, I have no real idea when that'll
be available. Enjoy.

Claws - Shout Out:
At this point I'm not sure of the exact number of times I've
listened to this, but I do know that with each time I hit
play I can't help but think of this as some sort of whacked
out TV On The Radio track. In all honesty, that's
probably a little too restrained of a comparison for this
act that seems more than a little all over the place, but
with a hint of soul in the vocals and that driving
arrangement it's a connection that certainly makes sense in
my head. Who's with me?
The quality in
this video of them playing Numbers On The Wall at
Rhythm And Vines is rather poor, but holy shit does it look
like one of the best times ever.
