Finally! The weekend has
arrived. I've actually got work all day tomorrow, which is kind of a
bummer, but on Sunday I'm going to see the Cowboys play the Buccaneers at
Texas Stadium (keep your fingers crossed for a win). Now, I don't
expect these activities to muff up anything here at the site, but there is a
slight chance that some content may get bumped to Monday. Alright,
let's get on with ending the week on a good note by way of A. Armada.
My original intentions with this Athens, Georgia act were to place them in
the weekly podcast, but since I haven't been able to take the song below off
of repeat I figured it would be a good idea to give them a bigger spotlight.
Make a note to seek out Anam Cara when Hello Sir Records puts it out
on January 29. Enjoy.

Armada - The Moon Shifts The Sea The Sea Shapes The Shore
The Shore Shakes The Sand The Sand Sinks The Ship:
If there was ever a case that says don't judge a book by its
cover - this would not be it. Nope, with such an
elaborate and epic title you have to assume that these guys
must have something good to offer, and in this case you
would be right to do so. This gem sweeps and soars
like Explosions In The Sky and crashes like Russian Circles,
and good, my friends, actually ends up as an understatement
for what has quickly become one of my favorite songs this
year. Do not listen to this without the volume way up.
Here's a cool
video of the band performing at something called
Corndogorama. I think the song is pretty awesome, but
whoever uploaded it didn't bother to include a title.
Speak up if you know what it's called!
