So, yesterday I decided to skip
out on the Austin Film Festival in favor of watching football. Oops.
The Cowboys got crushed by the lowly Rams and the other game I watched
featured the Packers destroying the Colts. Then, as if things weren't
lame enough, I completely forgot that NBC isn't on the air right now because
of money disputes with Time Warner, so I couldn't watch Sunday Night
Football. What a damn waste! Anyways, not all was overly
terrible yesterday since my need to escape the TV allowed me to give the new
record from Vic Chesnutt, Elf Power And The Amorphous Strums a listen.
I think it's pretty great, but it boggles my mind that they couldn't come up
with a shorter name for this project. Dark Developments is out October
28. Enjoy.

Chesnutt, Elf Power And The Amorphous Strums - And How:
To be honest, the only act here that I know much about is
Elf Power, so I don't believe I'll be discussing how they've
each gone about incorporating their own styles or anything
like that. Instead, I'll just point out that the lot
of them combined make one rather interesting sound that is
surprisingly natural and warm - almost as if they've been
creating music together for years unknown. You should
expect to like this.
As I alluded
to, I don't know a lot of Vic Chesnutt material, so this video of him performing Band Camp on TV is
totally new
and awesome to me. Feel free to recommend more.
