How come none of you bothered to take five seconds and tell me that yesterday was Columbus Day?  I totally would have taken all that time off to mull around and wonder about what I could have posted.  Or something.  Anyways, despite your schedule deficiencies and my depression over Tony Romo's broken pinky, I've got one stellar act for you to fall in love with today.  They're called La Strada, they hail from New York City and with just one seven minute jam (it awaits you below) they've quickly snatched up all of my attention.  It's just way too bad that their supposedly long awaited self titled EP isn't scheduled to be released until January 27.  Although, the extra time should allow us to talk about the days I should be taking off!  Enjoy.

:La Strada - Starling:  I adore any act that makes a song I've never heard a single note of sound like one that I've been listening to for years, and La Strada certainly has the quality about them.  Only, where most artists make that impression with the vocals, these talented people use a warm, inviting arrangement to get the "welcome, friends" sort of vibe that I can't ever seem to get enough of.  You must hear this if your week has gotten off to a shoddy start.  And if it hasn't?  Well, let's just say that this will still manage to make things at least a little better.

Searching for La Strada on Youtube is pretty much a waste of time, but I lucked out when I noticed the band had a neat video their Myspace.  The song is called Baptism and the location is someone's backyard.
