I
totally just noticed today that the Austin Film
Festival starts later this week. I've never
been, but I'm thinking about trying to go.
Does anyone know if the films are hard to get into
if you only have a regular pass? Should I go
with a badge? Help!
Here's some news. Read on.

Clint
Eastwood recently said that he thinks his role as a
racist in the upcoming Gran Torino has the
potential to be very controversial.
Director of the Orphanage, Juan Antonio Bayona is
set to direct Hater, which is a thriller that
deals with an epidemic of violence caused by normal
people.
Denzel Washington's the Matarese Circle may have
found a director in David Cronenberg (Eastern
Promises). The film is an adaptation of Robert
Ludlum's book of the same name, and it revolves around a
Soviet and an American in the Cold War who must work
together to stop a scheme to topple the world's
governments.
Rumor has it that Ryan Gosling is being considered for
the role of Green Lantern.
M. Night Shyamalan has said that he is still considering
writing a sequel to Unbreakable.
DC Comics President Paul Levitz recently said that
details for new releases based on Superman and
other characters are all contingent on what happens with
Christopher Nolan and Batman. When he signs
(or doesn't, maybe?) to do another one then everything
else will fall into place on the schedule.
Rose McGowan may sign on to star in Inferno.
The flick is about Linda Lovelace, who was made famous
by her role in Deep Throat.
It's isn't official yet, but many seem to be convinced
that Josh Brolin is a lock to star in Jonah Hex.
The film is said to be a western that follows a
middle-aged bounty hunter in his quest to find a voodoo
practitioner.
Warner Bros. has started to develop a sequel to Get
Smart.
Seth Rogen has signed on to star in I'm With Cancer,
which is about a young man's quest to beat the disease
after his abruptly finds out that he has it.
Anyone know if this is suppose to be funny?
Some seem to think that because Gore Verbinski is off
directing BioShock he won't be able to do the
fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean. So who
would replace him? Rumors say Tim Burton.
Gerald Butler and Jamie Foxx may have just signed on to
appear in Law Abiding Citizen, but as they come
director Frank Darabont is leaving the project. No
word on who will replace him.
