It's Friday!  I'm always happy when this part of the week arrives, but I'm even more pumped than usual since the next two days will for sure be absolutely fantastic.  On Saturday is the first ever beer festival at the Flying Saucer and on Sunday is the semi-annual (though, this year they didn't have one in the spring) Austin Record Convention.  Let's meet up if you're going to either!  Now, today I have a piece of CYNE's new record.  They've (CYNE stands for Cultivating Your New Experience) been operating for a few years without my knowledge, but I kid you not when I say that Pretty Dark Things is the first hip hop album in a long while that has instantly knocked me on my ass.  You must get it when it's released on October 7!  Enjoy.

:CYNE - Just Say No:  The range of topics covered on Pretty Dark Things is fairly wide, but for the sake of getting you introduced and ready to go with the act I went with the number that rags on things we all have problems with, which are people purchasing terrible music, the overall sad state of hip hop and bad radio playlists.  Although, the lyrical onslaught that's presented isn't all that you should take note of.  Nope, there's a rather tense and infectious arrangement that lies beneath everything and subtly convinces you to want more.  If only I came across this kind of stuff all the time.

There's a whole lot of material from CYNE on Youtube, so in order to show my diligence to find only the best I went with the first impressive piece that I clicked on.  The song is called Haze.
