Alright, time to fess up, how
many of you went and saw Twilight at a midnight screening last night?
The books seem to have a penchant for enchanting the soul and causing
obsession (probably the reason why I've never read them), so I understand if
you got caught up in it all and had to see movie ASAP. I just ask that
you at least admit your problem - then tell me how it was. I'm
curious. Now, today I have more Frightened Rabbit. I know I just
posted a track from their Liver! Lung! FR! live album and I fawned
over their performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest, but I've had a long week and the
new song that's floating around is too good to not post up on its own. According to
Pitchfork it's for a compilation called The Lifted Brow. Keep
an eye out for it. Enjoy.
:Frightened
Rabbit - Last Tango In Brooklyn:
"The fun stuff is not so fun without you" For the
majority of the year I've been overly appreciating FR's
tendency to create music that, for a lack of a better word,
carries some sass. This doesn't. In fact, it's a
fairly intimate and pretty little number that essentially
details someone's reflection on how they ruined their
relationship, how great that person made things and the
realization that they are where they are and there's nothing
that can be done about it. Get the headphones out for
this. And wine, if necessary.
Here's the band
doing an older track called Be Less Rude for
something called Maps. It's probably the only song
that I left FFF Fest wishing that I had been able to
hear.
