With all the cash that it made this weekend, I'm assuming that many of you saw Quantum of Solace.  Personally, I thought it was good - sort of like a Volume 2 of Casino Royale.  But what about you?  Did the mostly action-oriented affair prove to be worth your money?  Let me know!  At any rate, I have something fairly neat to report about Franz Ferdinand.  They've decided to push their upcoming record a little more (as if they their name alone won't make it sell) by putting out a new single and a remix competition to go with it.  Sounds a little generic, I know, but the cool part of it is that the grand prize winner (people will decide by voting online) will have their version of the song released on Domino Records.  Good stuff, right?  Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is out January 19.  Enjoy.

:Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses:  I've never been one of those blogs that flips out when a new remix gets released, but given that this song actually plays like the slick album opener that it wants to be, I can actually see a handful of people out there taking it and doing something that makes for an ever better listen.  Until then though, do as the band the wants and spend part of your day showing off your best dance moves.

UPDATED

:Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses (Real) A reader sent me the real version and, as pointed out in the comments, it's pretty much a whole lot better.  The other one will stay up for kicks, though.

I've only ever had the pleasure of seeing Franz Ferdinand perform once, but I do remember it being a pretty good show.  Check them out here on TV doing that old hit of theirs, Take Me Out.
