Before I get on with today's ramble I need to mention Light In The Attic's super Holiday Sale that they have going on.  My trusty columnist Noah, who does an assortment of things for the label, emailed me yesterday frantically claiming that people can save somewhere around a "million dollars" right now if they take advantage of the bundles and mark downs.  That's probably an exaggeration, but if I were you I'd still take a look.  Now, on with Fol Chen!  The Los Angeles-based act just signed to the almighty Asthmatic Kitty, who will release their debut Part 1: John Shade, Your Fortune's Made in February.  You should expect them to provide a little something to help dance this hump day straight into history.  Enjoy.

:Fol Chen - Cable TV:  "Would you come away with me?/I'm not rich/But the first night is on me."  If you can take a moment to stop grooving to this gem's simplistic beat and soft electronic touches then I think you might actually find some substance in the let's-just-getaway mentality of the songwriting.  After all, who hasn't wanted to just abandon their responsibilities and retreat to a place that will allow you to do nothing but relax and watch some cable TV?  No one, I say!

All I know about this video is that it's the band performing one of their first shows at a venue (or event?) called Let's Independent.  Anyone care to help with at least the title of the song?
