Anyone else in town going to see Shearwater's special performance tonight at the Parish?  They'll be performing their new album, Rooks, in its entirety with a string quartet, woodwinds, trumpets and a harpist.  Also, there will be projections by the guy who did the snazzy cover art for the album and a whole other set featuring the band's older songs.  It's going to be amazing.  Speaking of things that are good, today I have something new from Earlimart.  The act just released an album last year that was pretty solid, so I'm a little surprised that they're already back with another full length.  At any rate, it's called Hymn And Her and it will be out on July 1.  My guess is that it should be another quality set of tunes.  Enjoy.

:Earlimart - Song For:  One of my fears with veteran acts is that they'll suddenly release an effort that either sounds nothing like them or showcases that they've run out of good ideas.  Fortunately, as it would appear with this gem, such a thing doesn't seem as if it's going to be a problem for Earlimart anytime soon.  If anything I'd say that it looks as if they'll always be totally content with their penchant for quick bursts of lush pop.  Sounds good to me!  And you.  Probably.

Earlimart has been at it for a long time, which means that Youtube had quite a lot videos to choose from.  So, I went with an older track from 2003's Everyone Down Here called We Drink On The Job.  It's a good one.
