Since that other more high profile blog has had another moment in the sun, I can now go on with rambling about the Saturday Knights.  The last time that they appeared here at SOTO they were on the verge of releasing their self titled debut EP for Light In The Attic Records (home of the Black Angels, Noah Sanders, the Blakes) and I was but a young man enamored with their sense of humor and refreshing take on hip hop.  Now, the trio is on the cusp of pushing out a highly anticipated full length and I'm a slightly older, but still young man that's more than a little curious to hear what these guys have created over the last year.  Mingle doesn't arrive on store shelves until June 24, but I totally understand if you want to go ahead and wait at the record store.  Enjoy.

:The Saturday Knights - Dog Park:  Yes, the songwriting is spectacular.  Yes, the sound is diverse and interesting and not just your normal mix of pounding beats and/or weird sounds that most hip hop delivers.  I'm sure you probably guessed that though, as you're more than likely aware of the fact that there is no way I would be this excited about something generic.  So, just know that this is the quintessential summer song and that when you play it at the party in your backyard or at the lake this weekend your guests will probably force you to just leave it on repeat.  Thank me later.

My favorite song off of TSK's self titled EP was 45, so naturally that's what I went looking for on Youtube.  I didn't find an official video or anything, but I did come across the guys performing the gem for KEXP in Seattle.  Looks like a fun time.
