I was hoping to share a new
song from an artist that will soon be releasing a full length that I'm very
excited about, but I have to wait until another, more high profile blog does
some sort of exclusive premiere. Isn't that lame? I blame the
President. Fortunately, fate has twisted things my way a bit and
instead of that other act I have a taste of the highly anticipated new
Bodies Of Water album, A Certain Feeling. I'd say it's as good
as what I had originally planned on giving you today, so I suppose that in
the end all is well. And stuff. Secretly Canadian will be
delivering the band's sophomore effort on July 22. I honestly can't
wait to hear it, as I have absolute confidence that it will be one of the
year's best releases. Enjoy.

Of Water - Under The Pines:
After listening to this 20 times I've become convinced that
it just isn't possible for this act to make songs that
aren't full of life. They can't do it. Even the
first verse, which is a little more slick than I'm use to
from them, doesn't go on for very long before it bursts into
waves of lush sounds and soaring vocals. I mean, how
often are these people going to make me want to run through
a field with my arms thrown in the air!? It's too hot
out for that sort of craziness.
Here is the
band a few weeks before SXSW trying out a new song titled
Water Here at a place called the Echo in Los Angeles. The music
is more carnival-like than the song above, but for the most part I think it's
really great. You need to check this out.
