I'm for sure planning on catching a screening of Son Of Rambow this week, so expect a review of that.  I'm also going to try and get into a couple of others, but I'm not sure if that will work out just yet.

Now onto the weekly update!  Read on.

- The Rundown -

As it turns out, Jonah Hill landing a part in Transformers 2 was too good to be true.  No word yet on who will be Shia LaBeouf's sidekick.

Gore Verbinski has signed on to direct and produce and adaptation of the video game Bioshock.  For those that don't know, the game revolved around a pilot who crashes and discovers an underwater city known as Rapture.

New Line has snatched up the rights to Dan Mintner: Badass For Hire.  The film, which is suppose to pay homage to those great action films from the 80s, is said to deal with a highly decorated soldier on a quest to save his mentor.

James McTeigue will follow-up the Wachowski's Ninja Assassin with a film titled Revelation.  The story will follow a female journalist who is investigating a series of bizarre murders.

Jon Favreau recently noted that more than likely an Iron Man sequel would deal with Tony Stark's battle with alcoholism.  This storyline in the comics was known as Demon In A Bottle.

For some reason a script for a Donnie Darko sequel has been written.  Supposedly it will be called S. Darko and will center around Donnie's little sister, Samantha, and her dealings with the same visions and such during a road trip with her friend.

Millennium Films is planning on doing a live-action version of the age-old character know as Buck Rogers.  Despite rumors, Frank Miller is involved.

Rumor has it that Matthew McConaughey is the front runner for the role of Captain America.

Adam McKay has noted that he and Will Ferrell are highly interested in doing Anchorman 2.

Tom Cruise and Paramount seemed to have kissed and made up, as talks are underway to maybe do Mission Impossible IV.

Word is that Matthew Vaughn is no longer attached to direct Thor for Marvel.

Speaking of Thor, Brad Pitt is rumored to be the preferred choice for the role of the hammer-toting hero.

Bruce Willis is being rumored as the guy John Singleton is looking at to play Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, the leader of the A-Team.

Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington are currently trying to get together to do a film called The 28th Amendment, which would deal with a President who discovers that the United States is actually run by a secret organization.

Ellen Page has landed the role of Jane Eyre.  The literary adaptation is about a young governess who falls in love with her employer and discovers some of his dark secrets.

It's probably only a rumor, but supposedly a MacGuyver movie is in the planning stages.

Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to star in Unthinkable, which is about hidden nuclear weapons that are about to go off in the United States.

Ron Perlman will join Bunraku as the villain.  The highly stylized flick already has Josh Hartnett, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson signed on and ready to go.
