It's Friday! Well, sort
of. I actually have to work all weekend, so today pretty much means a
whole lot of nothing to me. Lame, right? On the bright side, I
do have brand new Bryan Scary And The Shredding Tears to share with your
snazzy ears. The group's debut, The Shredding Tears, was
something that I wrote about favorably back when I first heard it, and I'm
expecting the same reaction on April 1 when Black And Greene Records puts
out their sophomore effort. Flight Of The Knife, as it is set
to be called, is said to have been created with one of the main goals being
an attempt at "capturing the band's acclaimed live sound while expanding
upon the studio wizardry and lush eccentricities" of their last record.
Sounds good to me. Enjoy.

Scary And The Shredding Tears - Imitation Of The Sky:
It's a little bizarre to actually say, but I am beyond
thrilled that these guys still sound like a demented version
of the Beatles. A sizeable part of was a bit worried
that they would venture into the realm of mainstream indie
pop and never look back, but instead they got heavier,
stranger and better. If it isn't your thing on the
first listen then give another shot or two, as it just might
blow your mind once it makes sense.
To be honest,
this video of the band performing Shedding Tears
isn't of great quality. It has noticeable syncing
problems with the vocals and there is an assortment of
distortion issues during the louder moments. However,
it does reaffirm what I've always heard about Bryan and Co.
live, which is that they're a great time.
