If
you've already made it in town for SXSW then I
highly recommend coming out tonight to either Six
Street Showdown at Emo's and/or Art Disaster 5 at
the Beauty Bar. I'll be bouncing around at
both, so shoot me an email if you want to meet up!
Alright, here are the other five artists I'm pumped
to see this week. Enjoy.
:Robyn
- Konichiwa Bitches:
Is there a more hyped artist these days then Robyn? I
mean, she hasn't even really had anything new in years!
So why is she making an appearance on this list?
Because no matter how old her material is I still think it's
as catchy and fun as anything, and I'm super interested to
see how it works live.
:Lykke
Li - Let It Fall:
Part of me is convinced that if SXSW was nothing but Swedish
artists it would still be an awesome time. That
country has honestly just been cranking out some great acts
as of late, and Lykke Li is one of my favorites. I
hope she is a blast onstage. Or else.
:Bodies
Of Water - I Guess I'll Forget The Sound, I Guess I Guess:
Like the two acts above, I'm really excited to see how this
group's sound works in a live setting. I expect it to
be epic and beautiful in myriad of ways, but it's hard to
know for sure. Anyone care to share what it was like
based on previous experience(s)?
:Raveonettes
- Aly, Walk With Me:
It has been a very long time since I've seen this duo lay it
down, so that's the main reason they're on the list.
Also, have you guys taken the time to pour over Lust,
Lust, Lust? There really are some incredible songs
on it. They'll be playing a ton of shows, so maybe
I'll be able to see them more than once.
:Georgie
James - Cake Parade:
I think that even if this duo hadn't canceled their show
late last year I would still have them on this list, as
their debut is just too good to not want to hear it live and
in person as many times as possible. Unless, of
course, they disappoint. I doubt that will happen,
though.
