Hey!  SXSW is here!  As you probably already noticed I'm not really one of those people who either tries to do a preview of every band that's set to play and/or attempts to post the press releases for every event that will happen during the week.  But, with that being said I would like to take today and tomorrow to highlight 10 artists that I'm really excited to see this year.  Enjoy.

:The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name:  Based on the location and sheer number of times that this duo are playing it looks like I'm not the only one wanting to catch them live.  I suppose that's a good thing though since all of their material is pop bliss and will probably make for an awesome time with a packed crowd.

:Cassette's Won't Listen - Paper Float:  Given that this is an artist that I've been touting for seemingly an eternity I hate to say that I've never seen them actually perform.  But, that's the deal.  Hopefully my obvious adoration for anything that Jason Drake does in the studio won't be crushed by how he does on stage.

:Autolux - Turnstile Blues:  Of all the acts that I'll be mentioning in this mini-preview this is the one I'm most nervous to see.  Why?  Because roughly forever ago I was listening to their debut, Future Perfect, every single day, and after all these years of them supposedly working on new material I have serious doubts that I'll like any of it.  Cross your fingers!

:Why? - The Hollows:  Next to Thao Nguyen's We Brave Bee Stings And All I think Alopecia is the best record that 2008 has seen thus far, so it goes without saying that I really want to hear the songs live.  Plus, way back at my first SXSW this one of the first acts that came out of nowhere and impressed.  It will be nice to see them this time around as fan.

:Jim Noir - Don't You Worry:  Before I became aware that Jim had a new album I can't say that he was someone that I was going to make an effort see at SXSW, but once I got my hands on his self titled sophomore effort I was reminded of how great he is.  His work will be interesting to hear live and in person.
