I'm not entirely sure that my lame head cold is all the way gone, but it looks like I'm making progress towards being able to comfortably breathe again.  Good enough, I guess.  In other news, I have a post up over at Austin Sound that deals with Haunting Oboe Music's February EP.  If you remember I mentioned their EP-a-month project a little while back, so jump over there to hear what they've cooked up now.  Speaking of Austin Sound, the main brain behind the site, Doug Freeman, recently told me that lately he's been digging a Mountain Goats-inspired group by the name of the Hospital Bombers.  Well, as fate would have it one of their tracks from their new album, Footnotes, appeared in my inbox yesterday, and now I'm onboard as well.  Prepare to join us.  Enjoy.

:The Hospital Bombers - The Devil's Music:  "Have you been listening to the Hospital Bombers again?/Don't you know they're an evil band?/They're bad for you and I don't ever want you to listen to them ever again/It's the Devil's music."  As much as I love this gem's tongue-in-cheek lyrical ways I could get by with only listening to its simplistic pop arrangement for the rest of my days, as it's just that carefree and likeable.  Trust me when I say it's worth it to just let this blare as you kick back for a moment and have a good time.

Sure, this may look like one video for one song but it's actually the band getting interviewed and performing Jackoff, Heidi Says and Thunderstorm on a TV show.  Best thing ever, right?  Not really, but only because the talking portion is in a language I don't know.
