So, how did you guys feel about the Academy Awards?  I thought the major categories when pretty much as they should have, but there was a small part of me that really wanted to see There Will Be Blood win Best Picture.  Also, there's no way in hell that Persepolis should have lost out to Ratatouille, as it was one of the best animated films I've ever seen.  I guess you can't have it all, right?

Here's the weekly rundown.  Read on.

- The Rundown -

In what is easily the biggest news of the week, Warner Bros. have officially announced that they will be taking control of New Line Cinemas.  Expect the move to see New Line become geared towards specific genres under their new umbrella.

Rumors are still swirling as to what exactly will happen with Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are, but Warner Bros.' is said to be interesting in putting the film out in October of 2009.  No word on whether or not it will actually be re-shot with a new director/script.

George Miller's Justice League is back on track for a 2009 release.  Adam Brody (The Flash), Common (Green Lantern), Arnie Hammer Jr. (Batman) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) are still attached.

It seems unlikely, but word is that Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon may be getting ready to do another entry in the Bourne series.

Louis Leterrier, the director of this summer's Incredible Hulk reboot, won't be back for Transporter 3.  Olivier Megaton (Exit, The Red Siren) will take his spot.

2011 looks like it will be the year of sequels for Disney, as they're currently planning on releasing Cars 2, National Treasure 3 and Pirates Of The Caribbean 4.  They'll also have Tron in 3D.

Donnie Yen is set to play Ip Man, who is known for teaching a martial arts style known as Wing Chun.  One of the legendary man's students was Bruce Lee.

The terribly titled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins has a solid release date of May 22, 2009.  It's actually set to open along with Night In The Museum 2.

Gerald Butler has stated that Tales of The Black Freighter is being animated all on its own specifically for the eventual Watchmen DVD.

Judd Apatow is set to produce a new romantic comedy titled Five-Year Engagement.  As of now Jason Segel is the only person who has been cast.

David Bowers has cast Freddie Highmore (The Spiderwick Chronicles) as Astro Boy in the upcoming CG feature length version of the popular animated series.

It hasn't been officially announced yet, but it's looking more and more like Brad Pitt will star in Terrence Malick's Tree Of Life.  Apparently, Pitt has often been seen where Malick is intent on shooting the film.

Lathan McKay, who is actually from Austin, has been cast as Lane Staley in the upcoming Alice In Chains biopic, Get Born Again.

Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers are set to star in Shelter, which is about a forensic psychologist who realizes that one of her patients is plagued with murderous multiple personalities.

Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine) has signed on to appear alongside Zooey Deschanel in Gigantic.  The story centers around a mattress salesman and a woman he meets while working.
