No show review today.
Why? Because for the second time in the last week someone didn't
bother to make sure I was taken care of at the door. I don't want to
be that guy who goes crazy when such things happen, but I'm beginning to
wonder if I'll ever become a real priority to the record slingers who fill
up my inbox everyday with pleas for press. In any case, let's move
onto a lighter note by way of Albert Hammond Jr. The actual good
people over at Sneak Attack Media sent me his new single yesterday and it
made me think two things. The first was that didn't he just release a
full length? And the other was if he keeps going at it this well do I
ever want the Strokes to return? You can guess the answers to both
while you wait for Como Te Llama, which is due July 8. Enjoy.

Hammond Jr - GfC:
If you liked yesterday's joyful summer pop experience with
Bound Stems then I'm fairly certain that you're going to
have a good time with this gem, which is essentially
Albert's version of that sound. It's highly energetic,
catchy in its own way and, most importantly, full of proof
that the guy has taken a few leaps and bounds in regards to
his maturity as a solo artist. I don't know how you
can call a guy who is already well known someone to watch
out for, but keep an eye out for Mr. Hammond Jr.
Here's a track
from that previously mentioned album (Yours To Keep)
that was just put out. It's called 101, and
it's definitely a good one. The video, on the other
hand, is a little cheesy. At least watch it once.
