Just so you know, the next
couple of days will be show reviews. Tomorrow will detail my
experience at Matt Costa and the Delta Spirit at the Parish tonight, and
then Thursday will certainly have me once again raving about Sharon Jones
And The Dap-Kings, who will be performing at Stubb's on Wednesday. I
can't wait! Now, with all of that business out of the way, let's get
on with Bound Stems. I don't even remember when I shared the song
Wake Up, Ma And Pa Are Gone (I do know it can be found on 2006's
Appreciation Night), but with their new album the band is ready to give
capturing my attention another go. The full length is called The
Family Afloat, and it will be released by Flameshovel Records on July
11. My plan is to give a shot. You should too. Enjoy.

Stems - Happens To Us All Otherwise:
If I had been aware of this song before I made a guest
appearance on KOOP's Ear Candy this past weekend it would
have most definitely had a spot in my playlist of pop songs
that I've loved in 2008. Oddly enough though, it
doesn't really work as your standard pop tune since there
isn't a snazzy chorus or a catchy guitar riff that's going
to stick in your head. Nope, this gem is just a giant
smattering of refreshing energy that will undoubtedly put a
glide in your stride. You should download this as soon
as possible if you like acts like Los Campesinos.
Back in the day I never got
around to hearing anything outside of Wake Up, Ma And Pa
Are Gone, so go figure that it would be the one track
that had a video specifically made for it. Give it a
moment of your time.
