So, last night at an event that
I was working there was a showing of the animated Transformers movie
from the 80s. Maybe it has been far too long since I've seen it, but I
seriously don't remember how amazingly awful it really is. I mean,
Optimus Prime dies near the beginning AND there is a dance sequence.
Who in the world made that thing!? It's just bananas. At any
rate, the meanies over at Pitchfork put up a new gem yesterday from the
Shaky Hands that I think is worthy of your time, so that's what I've got to
treat your ears. The album that it is from is called Lunglight,
and it will be out on the always fantastic Kill Rock Stars imprint on
September 9. I recommend jotting the name down and grabbing it when
it's available. Enjoy.
:The
Shaky Hands - We Are Young:
These guys really haven't been around for that long, but I
feel that I always know what to expect from them. Now,
that doesn't mean they aren't progressing or getting better
at crafting nifty pop tunes, because they certainly are.
It's just more of a way for me to point out that they seem
to have found a comfort zone that's full of catchy melodies
and jangly goodness, and they don't seem intent on leaving
it. I love that. You should too.
I've mentioned
the Shaky Hands a couple of times, but I believe that the
last time I did it was because of the song Why And How
Come. Here's the video if you don't remember the
tune.
