Have you guys heard anything from Zach De La Rocha and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore's new project, One Day As A Lion?  It doesn't really sound that much different than Rage Against The Machine, but it's solid and I'm really curious to know if anyone still cares.  In any case, at the end of last week I was sent an email with some details on a  brand new These United States album.  Now, considering that their debut just dropped in the first part of this year I had no idea that Jesse (I met him at SXSW for about 5 minutes, so we're totally on a first name basis) and the guys were even in the process of readying a sophomore effort, but I suppose the more the better.  Crimes will be released by United Interests on October 7.  Enjoy.

:These United States - West Won:  The press release noted that the new full length was recorded in just six days, and I think that you definitely tell.  This gem is not as tight and immaculately produced as what I shared off their debut earlier this year, but it does have a much looser, more jam-like feel in the music and the vocals that works very well.  I can't wait to see how the quick studio work plays out over the rest of the album.

Searching for These United States on Youtube is essentially useless, but I did manage to find this quiet performance of We Go Down To That Corner.  It's probably exactly what you need.
