Hello friends!  It’s been a very busy week for me.  As John said earlier, we’re working on a redesign of the whole website that we hope to have up and running soon.  But with all the time I’ve been playing Pimp John’s Website, I haven’t had much time to dig up the dirty-deets on new releases this week.  So instead, here’s a playlist for your Sunday enjoyment.  If you like what you hear, you’re in for a special treat, because all of these songs are pulled from albums you can download for free (legally) online.

:Forest Fire - I Make Windows I’ve been listening to this album called Survival by the Brooklyn band Forest Fire for some time now, and I can’t recommend it enough.  I’ll let the music do the talking for this one, so have a listen to the first track, I Make Windows, and then go download the album here.

:Kid Cudi - Cudi Get:  I don’t often post about Hip Hop, mostly because I haven’t any idea what I’m talking about when it comes to the whole genre, but this free mixtape from Kid Cudi has been on the "Recently Played" for quite a while.  Us white guys will recognize the Quiet Riot lyrics that make their way into the song throughout.  Anyway, I saw a Gorilla vs. Bear post on this the other day, so if this isn’t way too old news for you now, and you like what you hear, grab the whole mix tape here.

:Patchwork - Spaceships The guys over at Muzzle of Bees turned me on to this folk singer from Madison, Wisconsin.  The song is nice and easy, with a small ensemble mixed in to support the lyrics of Jeremiah Nelson.  It’s a terrific song, but unfortunately, I lied to you a little bit: the album isn’t available for free yet, so hold on for a few more days and then seek it out.

As always, I’d encourage you to throw the artists some money, either by Paypal or by buying another one of their not-for-free releases.  I mean, musicians got to eat too right?

See you next week and thanks for reading.
