I don't know how many of you have art house-oriented theaters near you, but if you do then I recommend catching a showing of Mongol, which is about the early years of Genghis Kahn.  I saw it last night and thought that it was pretty good.

Now, for the return of the rundown!  Read on.

- The Rundown -

When I mentioned it sometime ago it appeared to be on track, but now it's official: Quentin Tarantino is making Inglorious Bastards.  As of now, Brad Pitt is the only real casting possibility.

Rumor has it that Warner Brothers are trying to get a plan rolling that will capitalize on its comic book properties the way that Marvel has.  Possible choices are the Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman and Justice League.

Robert Downey Jr. has lined up another cool project.  This time it's with Guy Ritchie for a movie in which he will portray Sherlock Holmes.

Speaking of Sherlock Holmes, Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen are teaming up with Judd Apatow for their own take on the character.  Cohen will be Holmes and Ferrell will be Watson.

I don't know why they're doing it, but Universal seems to be making a sequel for American Gangster that will go straight to video.

Early feedback on the script for the proposed Jonny Quest movie has been positive.

Fortunately, Marvel wised up quick and has now secured Jon Favreau for the inevitable Iron Man sequel.

There is a bizarre rumor floating around that Daren Aronofsky might be directing the Robocop remake.

Seth Rogen recently said that there will be no sequel to Superbad, but he might be interested in doing one for Pineapple Express.

Just in case you were wondering, Spike Jonze has been give even more time and money to try and salvage his vision of Where The Wild Things Are, which has been shelved for years now.

Joss Whedon's next project will be Cabin In The Woods.  No word yet on any plot details.

Even though the original didn't exactly blow up the box office, Robert De Niro has said that he is still interested in doing two more sequels to the Good Shepard.

All of the online protesting and such that has gone on in defense of Fanboys has actually worked.  The Weinstein's have returned the film to the original director for editing and they plan on releasing it in theaters later this year.

Word is that the new Superman movie may not be directed by Bryan Singer.
