It's Friday! This means
that Hellboy II: The Golden Army is in
theaters (as I said yesterday, it's awesome) and Sarah's rollerderby tryout
is tomorrow! It would be awesome if you would all take a moment to
wish her well on wheels. Also, she needs a cool name. I said
Sarahdactyl, but somehow that was already taken, so feel free to
recommend one. Alright, in an effort to keep the energy level high I'm
sharing the first single off of the Faint's Fasciinatiion. As
you may already know, the album, which is the band's 5th full length, is
going to be put out on their own label, blank.wav, and not on Saddle Creek.
I hate to see those two separated, but it's neat
that the band has gotten big enough to do their own thing. The disc
will be out August 5. Enjoy.
:The
Faint - The Geeks Were Right:
It'll probably seem weird to some of you, but there is a
rather sizeable part of me that has always assumed that as
times goes on this band will inadvertently tone it down and
lose their aggressiveness. I suppose this could still
happen, but as I listen to this dance-inducing number I know
for sure that it won't be this album. They're still
making sure that they turn up all their dials and fill your
body with whatever it needs to get moving. Get ready
to spend the weekend with this on repeat.
Here's a pretty
trippy video that was made for the gem that is I
Disappear. It was directed by the band, and I
think it does well in providing a good idea of just how kinetic
their live shows tend to be.
