I don't have time to write a
full review, so I just want to let all of you good people know Hellboy
II: The Golden Army thoroughly impressed me at the screening that I
caught last night at the Galaxy Highland. Guillermo Del Toro is really
at the top of his game, and I don't think I could be more excited now for
his take on the Hobbit. Buy your tickets now! On a free
note, today I have a gift from the Walkmen. I didn't realize it until
today, but it has been over six years since their debut, Everyone Who
Pretended To Like Me Is Gone, was released. Have I really been
listening to them for that long!? It makes me feel old. Anyway,
You And Me is the title of the new album and it will be released
courtesy of Gigantic Music on August 19. Enjoy.
:The
Walkmen - In The New Year:
To be honest, these guys have really been keeping me on my
toes since Bows And Arrows; none of their releases
have sounded like I thought they would. However, this
song actually feels like a natural evolution or, if you
will, a combination of all their previous efforts with the
added bonus of inspiration dripping from everywhere.
If you've been waiting for the Walkmen to deliver an all
encompassing listen then I think you're really going to love
this. I know I do.
The Rat
is and will always be my favorite song by the Walkmen, and
that's why I'm sharing the simple video for it instead of
some of the cooler things that are on Youtube. It's
just that good. Now watch and listen!
