In line with that seems to be a reoccurring trend in my life, I have absolutely no idea where this month went.  I have posts that indicate I was around for it, but I swear that New Year's Day was just last week.  Where is all the time going!?  In any case, let's talk Jesse Elliot and David Strackany (aka Paleo) and their work under the name of These United States.  The duo have only been creating music together for about two years, but with the notoriety they've attained from playing over 300 shows they seem poised to break out and capture everyone's attention on March 4 when United Interests releases their debut album, A Picture Of The Three Of Us At The Gate To The Garden Of Eden.  Feel free to mark that day down as one to treat yourself to a little something.  Enjoy.

:These United States - First Sight:  For the first 50 seconds of this I was convinced that it was just another electro pop tune.  It isn't, and you'll realize it once Jesse steps in and says "With her mouth making movements to introduce thoughts/I sat deafened by trust."  Not only is that a good line, but I think it immediately says that this isn't something that you just sing-a-long with and then place in the depths of you head.  It's worth pouring over a few dozen times.

Here is Jesse performing So High So Low So Wide So Long.  Live videos tend to make me curious about what an official piece would be like, but this one has great sound quality and is shot in such an endearing way that I think it's perfect as is.  Watch and love.
