I'm don't know what the deal is, but I'm clearly not too good at clueing you in on my Austin Sound posts on a timely basis.  Perhaps it's some sort of unknown form of forgetfulness that plagues only me.  Or something.  At any rate, I have a couple up that you should check out.  One is on an experimental act called the Carnys, and the other is on SXSW.  Before you happily click away though, take a moment to listen to the first single from Jim Noir's upcoming self titled sophomore effort for Barsuk.  His debut, Tower Of Love, was nothing short of a stellar listen from beginning to end, and if I had known Jim was working on anything new I would have already been hyping this as something I'm looking forward to most in 2008.  April 6 can't get here soon enough.  Enjoy.

:Jim Noir - Don't You Worry:  Here is one of those songs that I honestly don't see how anyone could seriously not like, as it literally has everything that you would want out of a pop tune.  The vocals are interesting and catchy, the arrangement is full of sounds that swirl and intrigue, and the songwriting is packed with great lines that are worth remembering.  In other words, it's sweet perfection.  Get ready to listen to it non-stop.

I can't say how many of you out there have ever dreamt of seeing Jim Noir fight an incredibly huge chicken, but if you have then the events that transpire in this video for My Patch will probably make your day.
