Another one of my lovely quips
is up over at Austin Sound, and this particular time it's about my good
friends in the band La Snacks. Do me a bunch of favors and check them
out here,
Friday at the Mohawk and then once more in the podcast this weekend. I
promise you'll like it. Until you get your fix on something local
though, let's set aside our worries and spend the day bouncing along to a
new one from The Boy Least Likely To. Their upcoming album doesn't
actually have a release date or a title yet, but I'm from what I've read it
looks like it will be out in the summer on Too Young To Die Records.
Probably. At any rate, I can at least for sure say that it has a super
good chance of being one of the year's best indie pop efforts. Enjoy.

Boy Least Likely To - A Balloon On A Broken String:

Most of you who have ever heard anything from this duo can
probably guess what this sounds likes. But, for the
sake of those that haven't and/or don't feel like assuming
I'll quickly point out that this gem's soundscape is made up
of lush pop elements, great vocal work and loveable lyrics.
In fact, if you can actually listen to this and not feel the
need to smile and sing-a-long then it's highly possible that
you're dead.
I won't deny
it, this video for Be Gentle With Me is cute.
Actually, it's super cute beyond all reason, and I place all
of the blame squarely on the very pretty Rashida Jones and
those weird little stuffed animals.
