Hey Everybody!  Before you start looking over the weekly update I wanted to give you the heads up that I'm planning on catching screenings of The Signal and Charlie Bartlett this week, so expect reviews of those.  Also, if my schedule doesn't become too hectic I'll also try to throw out some picks for the Academy Awards.

J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot has been delayed from this Christmas all the way to May 8, 2009.

John Landis (Animal House, Blues Brothers) has signed on to direct Ghoulishly Yours, William M. Gaines.  The plot will center around Gaines and his work on publishing the controversial EC Comics (Tales From The Crypt, Mad Magazine.)

Rumor has it that Al Pacino will be playing the head of a terrorist group in the upcoming James Bond flick, Quantum Of Solace.

Upon James Cameron's recommendation, McG has cast Sam Worthington (Avatar) as Marcus in his planned Terminator trilogy.

Paul Bettany will star in Legion, which is about the Archangel Michael and his quest to save a bunch of humans when God decides to wipe out mankind.

All of the talk about directors and such for Conan has apparently been worthy of nothing.  Word is the script isn't even finished.

After the Coen brothers shoot A Serious Man they will move onto a Michael Chabon novel titled The Yiddish Policemen's Novel.  The film will be noir-esque murder mystery set in Alaska.

As of now there are pretty much no details known about the project, but the Wachowski brothers next film after Speed Racer will be something called Ninja Assassin.

Nick Cassavetes will replace Dakota and Elle Fanning with Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Sofia Vassilieva in his new movie, My Sister's Keeper.  Apparently the Fanning sisters were unwilling to shave their heads.

Michael Bay has said that he has written a script and designed all the characters for Transformers 2.

The trailer for Pineapple Express is out.  It looks like it could be the most epic stoner movie ever made.

Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Mr. And Mrs. Smith) is all set to shoot a film based on Valerie Plame, who was involved in the scandal between Bush and the CIA.  It will star Nicole Kidman.

Rumor has it that Warner Bros has decided to kill off Batman and Superman by way of Doomsday in the proposed Justice League Of America film.  Filming supposedly won't start until 2010 though.

Guillermo Del Toro has stated that he has not been officially attached to The Hobbit, and until the recent lawsuit filed against New Line is resolved there will be no more talks.
