Yikes! Lost is getting
too good. I really thought that with the slightly wild shift to flash
forwards the show would start trying to do too much, but with every episode
this season I find myself more and more curious about the events that lead
to only six people being able to leave the island. Here's hoping that
the long-awaited conclusion of the writer's strike leads to a full season!
Now, let's talk Frightened Rabbit and their upcoming sophomore effort,
The Midnight Organ Fight. I actually didn't know they were working
on anything new, so the news really came as a pleasant surprise to the part
of me that craves quality indie pop. Expect to see the album out at
some point in April on Fat Cat Records. Enjoy.
:Frightened
Rabbit - The Modern Leper:
This is an interesting pop song. The arrangement feels
de-centralized and is layered rather nicely, so it comes at
you from all sides and really results in a constant string
of ear-pleasing moments. And the vocals? Yeah,
those pretty much fall in line with my comments on the
music. This is just one of those songs that shows how
smarts can go a long ways towards crafting a good listen.
Here is the
video for The Greys, which is from an effort titled
Sing The Greys that was re-released on Fat Cat
Records last year. I thought that album was a pretty
solid effort, so I would certainly recommend seeking it out
if you've never heard it.
