Hey. I've got a couple
more posts up at Austin Sound if you're interested. One is on Oh No!
Oh My! and their recent Daytrotter session, and the other is on a local rock
act called Whitman. Check them out here
and here.
Now, let's have a little pre-Valentine's appreciation by way of the Mystery
Jets. The quintet have readied a brand spanking new album, which is
honestly a bit of a surprise considering that their last effort, Zootime,
hit store shelves less than a year ago. In any case, 21 doesn't
seem to have an actual release date listed yet, but I'm guessing that it
will be made available sometime in the next few months on Dim Mak here in
the US and 679 Recordings everywhere else. If not, then feel free to
riot in the streets. Enjoy.
:Mystery
Jets - Young Love (Featuring Laura Marling):
"If I only knew your name I would go from
door-to-door/Searching all the crowded streets for the face
that I once saw." As you probably already guessed,
this is indie pop at its catchiest/sweetest, so you should
fully expect it to have it lodged in your head for at least
the rest of the week. That is, of course, unless
you're single. Then you might have to double the
duration.
"You can do
anything you want as long as it makes sense." While
this video for You Can't Fool Me Dennis is a crafty
piece of work that's visually worthy of your time, I have to
say that I'm sharing it solely because of that line.
It's good stuff.
