And so
the NFL season all the way wrapped up yesterday with
the Pro Bowl. I know most people don't care
about it, but even with a large number of the
players originally selected not actually in
attendance it was nice to see one last game.
Now if only the draft would hurry up and get here.
Here's an EP to help kick off a new week.
Enjoy.

- Love No (The Teenagers Cover):
After taking a moment to search out the original I have to
say that I think this version is better. SoKo does a
great job of taking the harsh/blunt ways of the Teenagers
lyrics and musical tastes and turns them into what sounds
like an incredibly sweet pop song. I mean, I was
smiling and living on top of the world until I realized I
was singing "I'm not in love with you" over and over.
Tricky, but good.
:The
Futureheads - The Beginning Of The Twist:
Outside of a song or two here and there since their debut
this band really hasn't done much to grab my attention.
With that being said, I think their new full length, This
Is Not The World, has the chance to be pretty neat.
They're putting it out on their own label, Nul Records, and
judging by this song it looks like it will be aggressive
enough to warrant some dedicated rocking.
:Project
Jenny, Project Jan - 320:
Here is an electro-pop, karaoke inspired duo from Brooklyn.
I missed out on their album, XOXOXOXOXO, when it was
released on Might Records last year, but since they're still
being buzzed about here in 2008 I figured it would be a good
time to jump on the bandwagon. Hopefully I'll be able
to catch one of their supposedly amazing live sets at SXSW.

Make This Sound - One, Two, Three:
Many of you are probably somewhat familiar with at least one
of the artists in this EP, so I'd say it's OK to consider
this one the undiscovered gem of the bunch. The seven
member act has a rather nifty pop sound that pretty much
covers all aspects of the genre, which means that variety is
something you'll surely get on their upcoming EP, Stare
At Yourself.

Power - Spiral Stairs:
While I haven't been a fan for the entire duration of their
almost decade and a half existence, I can say that I've
gained a lot of respect for the band over the last few
years. They've been making music that really couldn't
possibly be considered anything short of solid, and I
believe they will keep that trend going with their upcoming
Rykodisc effort, In A Cave.
