I have to say that I'm more than thrilled that the writer's strike appears to be over.  If we're all lucky these guys and girls will be able to immediately get back to work on cranking out new episodes of Lost and any other TV shows that have been sorely missed.  Who knows?  Maybe even that Justice League flick will quickly get back on track.  The future is bright.

Here's the weekly update.  Read on.

- The Rundown -

Rumors are still swirling as to what exactly will be done with Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus.  The IMDB page shows it as shut down, but various other sites are claiming that sources have told them the film is still on and that the current plan is to have a different actor play the parts where Heath Ledger's character is in a dream/magic world.

Universal has decided that The Wolf Man will be directed by Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park 3, October Sky, Jumanji).  He will be replacing Mark Romanek, who recently left due to creative differences.

Gary Oldman has signed on for a part in David Goyer's currently untitled supernatural thriller.  He'll be playing a spiritual specialist that is trying to help a girl who is being haunted.

Casey Affleck is set to star in a noir about an amnesiac who works for a violent mobster in the 1930s.  It will be called The Kind One.

Surprisingly, the latest director rumored to be connected with the remake of Conan is none other than horror-fanatic Rob Zombie.

Will Arnett has been being replaced by Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT in the Knight Rider movie that's set to appear on NBC in the coming weeks.  Apparently, he has a contract with GM, and they had a problem with him voicing a Ford vehicle.

As if he didn't already have enough on his plate, Guillermo Del Toro recently said that he would be interested in doing a movie based on Marvel's Doctor Strange.

The upcoming Woody Allen effort, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, has been generating some positive word of mouth lately due to a supposed lesbian scene between Scarlet Johansson and Penelope Cruz.

Hillary Swank is all set to play Amelia Earhart in a biopic on the famed aviator that is currently titled Amelia.

Martin Scorsese is set to follow up his documentary on the Rolling Stones with one on Bob Marley.  As of now the plan is to have it hit theaters on February 6, 2010, which would have been Marley's 65th birthday.

McG has commented that he thinks Josh Brolin (Planet Terror, No Country For Old Men) would make a good Terminator.

Kate Hudson has signed on to star in Big Eyes.  The film is about a painter named Margaret Kane who had credit for all of her work stolen by her husband.

Keanu Reeves, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alan Arkin, Monica Belluci and Winona Ryder are all set to appear in The Private Lives Of Pipa Lee.  The story centers around an older man who leaves his wife for a younger woman.

Ben Foster (3:10 To Yuma) will star in a flick called The Messenger, which is about a guy stuck in the Army doing a highly undesirable job.

Superbad co-stars Jonah Hill and Micheal Cera have both lined up new projects.  Hill will be in Ricky Gervais' This Side Of The Truth, and Cera will be in Miguel Arteta's Youth In Revolt.
