You
know what's strange? Coming across new music
and not sharing it immediately. How do some
blogs spend the year writing about the same artists
over and over again? And to think that over
the last week or so I've only mentioned a handful of
releases more than once!
Anyhow, here's the mid-part of my list for your
middle of the week entertainment. Enjoy.

#15) Cassettes Won't Listen - Small-Time Machine
The Postal Service aren't coming back. Sorry, I know that many of you
are holding on to a sliver of hope that they'll decide to make another
record, but it just isn't going to happen, so give up (pun intended).
It won't be as bad as you think though, especially since this effort from
Jason Drake sounds like it could have actually come from Ben Gibbard and Co.

Won't Listen - Paper Float:
#14) Los Campesinos - Hold On Now, Youngster
I don't know if finding a record that has the potential to jump start your
day for all eternity has been a big priority for you in 2008, but if it has
then you can totally rest easy. Overstuffed with energy and passion, I
don't think there's anything else that can so readily provide the kind of
excitement that this album delivers.
:Los
Campesinos - You! Me! Dancing!:
#13) Santogold - Self Titled
This is such a big album with so many different styles. I listen to it
pretty often and I always wonder exactly what's bouncing around in
Santogold's head on a daily basis. Does she randomly wake up feeling
punk? How about dance-pop? Ballad-esque? Maybe to some
that causes the LP to come off as lacking cohesion, but for me it's just
straight fun.

- LES Artistes:
#12) The Raveonettes - Lust, Lust, Lust
I keep expecting for the Raveonettes to suddenly disappear, but every single
time that they've almost slipped my mind they put out another good record.
To be honest, this one, which is super noisy and packed with some of the
catchiest songs they've ever written, is probably my favorite by them.
Now if only I could catch up on all of those EPs they've been putting out.
:The
Raveonettes - Aly, Walk With Me:
#11) Little Joy - Self Titled
I haven't had this effort in my possession for as long as any of the other
records that you'll find in my Top 25, but the fact that it has been on
repeat since I got it is why it garnered such a high spot. There's
just an easy to love quality about the album and its wonderfully breezy
sound. I hope Fabrizio Moretti sticks with this and doesn't bother
anymore with that other band of his.

Joy - Brand New Start:
