Before
we get to the weekly update I want you all to know
that from August 30 through September 14 there will
be no posting at all since the wife and I will be
traveling down the west coast. Fear not
though, I do plan on getting my fall preview up
before we go, and if all goes well I'll also have
that bit that I've hinted about the last two weeks.
Cross your fingers!
OK. here's what you need. Read on.

The Rundown -
Marvel's
plans and the success of The Dark Knight have
seemingly confused the hell out of Warner Bros.
They're now saying that they will develop dark-themed
full length features for every comic book character
(from Wonder Woman to Superman to Green Lantern and so
on) in their stable.
Jon Favreau recently noted that he is working on Iron
Man 2, and he expects it to be out in 2010.
Mike Judge has a new comedy ready to be filmed. It
is titled Extract, and it will star Ben Affleck
as a ambulance chasing lawyer and Jason Bateman as a
flower extract factory owner. No word yet on the
exact plot.
Recent comments by Tyrese indicate that things are
almost ready to go on an A-Team movie. Some
think he may be playing the role of B.A. Baracus (Mr.
T's old part).
Summit is apparently working on a reboot of the
Highlander franchise. As of now, Kevin McKidd
(Rome) is the only rumored casting choice for the
lead role.
Matthew Vaughn has added Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson and
Lindsay Fonseca to the cast of Kick-Ass.
Vin Diesel has let it be known that he has directed a
twenty-minute prequel to the new Fast And Furious
entry. No word yet on whether it will play in
front of the movie or if it will be a DVD feature.
Rumor has it that James Franco is being seriously
considered for the role of Jack Ryan.
Russell Crowe recently noted that he is working on a
movie about the life of famed comedian Bill Hicks.
It's probably unlikely that it'll ever really happen,
but there is a rumor floating around that says a
Veronica Mars movie may be in the works.
Richard Kind and Michael Stuhlberg have been cast as the
leads in the Coen Brother's A Serious Man.
The plot is said to be set in the 60s and will deal with
a guy going through major changes in his life.
Jimmy Fallon has been cast in Whip It. The
Drew Barrymore flick about rollergirls in Austin (this
better be damn good and properly done, or else) already
has Ellen Page signed on.
