So, can you guess what I did
during yesterday's head cold-ridden crapiness that had me stuck to the couch
wishing I could breathe? I watched the Olympics, of course!
Unfortunately, I could still do without the whole extravaganza. Some
of the events I caught were very uneven when it came to judging, and the
man-dolphin known as Michael Phelps just weirds me out. At least I
tried though, right? Now, let's talk the Secret Machines. I know
I was a little so-so on their show at the beginning of the month, but I'm
still very jazzed about their full length that'll be out at some point in
the coming months. Below is a b-side of sorts that actually won't be
on the aforementioned disc, so only use it as a way to help pass the time.
Or whatever. Enjoy.
:The
Secret Machines - Dreaming Of Dreaming:
I tend to ignore when a band says that they plan on
returning to whatever sound populated their earlier
releases, but with this song it actually seems as if the
Secret Machines are going to be doing just that. Gone
is the vocal heavy, more experimental-than-rock ways of
Ten Silver Drops, and in its place is the swirling,
always building up to something good variety that made up
Now Here Is Nowhere. If this is what will mostly
be on the new album then count me as doubly excited for it.
Believe it or
not, if you take this video for Nowhere Again and
turn the volume up really loud while watching it full screen
then you'll actually get a glimpse of what their live show
was like a couple of weeks ago at Stubb's.
