This is completely random, but
since I was there last night (and many others) I want to mention the Flying
Saucer for those of you that are local. It's this great bar in the
Triangle (North Lamar), and on Monday's they have $2.75 pints. It's
awesome, so if you're in Austin you should come hang out, drink one of their
200+ beers and talk music. Alright, I'm not sure the Rosebuds have
even crossed my mind since the release of their last album, Night Of The
Furies, but I have to admit that I'm ready for the new full length the
duo has put together. It's called Life Like, and it's due out
on store shelves via Merge on October 7th. Just below I have the title
track for your convenience, but if that isn't enough then you can jump over
to their Myspace to hear a few more songs. Enjoy.

Rosebuds - Life Like:
I have to admit that when I first gave this song a listen I
had to double check to make sure that it was the Rosebuds.
That doesn't mean that Ivan's moody vocals or the brooding
arrangement isn't done well, because it is. It just
seems like for the first single they would have went full
catchy. Who knows? Maybe this means Life Like
will revisit the duo's old days when they were more rock
than pop.
I really wanted
to share Get Up Get Out, but there wasn't an official
video and the live ones weren't of very good quality.
So, instead you get Box Car. Check it out.
