Guess what? I'm actually
getting married today. That's right, I'll be legally bound to my very
own awesome little rollerderby-loving lady as of this afternoon. And
yet, here am I still delivering an EP. That's what I call dedication.
Actually, it's more due to the fact that we chose to have a small
family-oriented affair and not a huge wedding, so I have no stress or
anything distracting me from writing. Hooray.
Now for the goods. Enjoy.
BTW, there will still be a podcast tomorrow, but it'll be a little
different than normal since I'm using it as a convenient way to celebrate
the site being up two years (as of today SOTO has existed for one year and
364 days). Excited yet?

Go Music - Reach Out:
If you caught the last single that this Secretly Canadian
artist put out then you probably recall that it was
spectacular in a strange vintage and glitzy synth-pop kind
of way. Well, now they've taken that and added a
rather sizeable amount of epic craziness, so this new track
is wild. They are honestly the only act in the world
that I don't want to release and EP/LP. I just want
them to continue putting out these 12" singles every couple
of months throughout the remainder of time. Anyone
else with me?

Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip - For The Woman:
"The love song for those sick of love songs." After
quite a few listens I saw this quote from Scroobius Pip
buried in the press release and it made me smile because I
think the word love could easily be replaced with
hip hop. Seriously, if the genre has just been too
much for you lately then I advise that you check out this
refreshing number. Angles will be out on
Strange Famous in September.

- Any Moment Now:
Admittedly, this track is kind of bizarre - the pace is very
quick, the arrangement is full of brass and the vocals are
done in some sort of semi-lounge like style. Still,
I'm willing to be that you'll struggle with trying to keep
your foot from tapping whether it manages to completely
appeal to you or not. It's just that kind of jam.
Strugglers is due out September 23 on Doghouse
Records.

- Oh You Horny Monster:
As you may remember, I mentioned on Wednesday that I tend to
prefer instrumental music to be of the "post rock, sweeping
epic" kind. At that point it was my way of leading in
to Chandeliers electronic ways, but now it's doing the same
for this noisy piece of well crafted chaos from Brooklyn's
Fiasco. Jump on this immediately if you dig Lightening
Bolt or any other act that prefers smashing your head in
over massaging your ears. Impose Records will release
Native Canadians on October 14.

- Satt Att Se:
This has always been an artist that's very hit or miss for
me, but that certainly won't stop me from getting excited
about their upcoming full length. I mean, I know there
will be a handful of songs that will amaze and an equal
amount that will do nothing but make me hit the skip button.
But that's all part of the fun though, right? Anyhow,
expect 4 to hit store shelves on September 30.
