I've got plenty of indie pop
and such sitting around that I could probably be sharing today, but I'm
thinking it would be a better idea to flashback into way back when so that I
can ramble about Light In The Attic/Trikont's release of More Dirty
Laundry - The Soul Of Black Country. The large compilation (24
songs from just as many different artists) is actually a follow-up to the
one that was released a while back, and it deals with the oddness that comes
from soul music being associated only with blacks and country music only
with whites. I think it's an interesting dynamic that honestly has me
wondering if even at a subconscious level I've always had that stereotypical
mindset as well. Strange, right? Anyhow, the album is out now.
Enjoy.

And Tina Turner - Don't Believe Nothing:
"I can't believe what you're saying/I keep on seeing what
you do." This song is so great that it actually bums
me out that it took all of this time to get the attention it
so very much deserves. Tina sounds incredible, and Ike
(generally, I can do without him) even does well in helping
make this the kind of effort that should do nothing but
inspire raucous sing-a-long sessions. Good luck trying
to keep this off repeat.
I probably
could have dug up something related to the aforementioned
compilation, but why should I do when there are some many
great videos of Tina Turner just killing it. Here she
is with Ike doing Proud Mary.
