Hey Everybody!  Today is my future wife's 24th birthday, so if you have a spare second use it to think a celebratory thought.  Or, and this my recommendation, give a random person who you think might be named Sarah a high five and a hug.  Spread the love!  Before you start this awesomeness, though, you have to make sure that you skip below to check out something new from Free Kitten.  I was ignorant to good music during their heyday in the 90s, but I'm all with it now and excited to bet getting something from a group that consists of Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Julie Cafritz (Pussy Galore), Mark Ibold (Pavement) and Yoshimi P-We (Boredoms/OOIDO).  Ecstatic Peace will be releasing the band's first album in over a decade on May 20, and it's called Inherit.  Enjoy.

:Free Kitten - Seasick:  Even though there are quite a few acts around these days that are doing well in paying tribute to the music that these people were making all those years ago, it's still nice to hear them actually doing it.  The overall distorted sound that's filled with odd noises and slacker-rock guitar riffs is great, and I love the songwriting, which somehow makes lines like "I like you/Cuz you float my boat" seem brilliant.  Good luck trying to not revisit the 90s after you give this its well deserved love (minimum of 15 listens).

Here is a video that Kim Gordon made with her nieces for a Kill Rock Stars video compilation back in the late 90s.  It has that whole amateur "it seemed cool when we thought it up" sort of thing going on, so I'll understand if you actually can't manage to sit and watch it all.  The song is cover of France Gal's Teenie Weenie Boppie.
