Unfortunately, I'm facing one of those weekends
where I have to work the entire time. It
sucks. But, for those of you who will be
riding the couch and watching the NFL draft I
present to you this EP. You know, for when you
get tired of watching Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay
fight over whether or not some kid fresh out of
school is going to turn around a terrible team all
by his lonesome. Enjoy!

Pants - We're Through:
Even though I've had this sitting in my inbox for weeks it
didn't get any love from me until yesterday. Why?
I'm have no idea. Maybe it was because the last part
of his moniker is Pants. Anyhow, I do know that I
should have offered it up to you guys when it arrived, as it
that essential sort of hip-shaking goodness that permanently
lodges itself in your head. James' debut, Welcome,
is out in May on Stones Throw.

Tom - Fire:
It's not too often that I come across a non-metal related
act from Sweden who isn't making the most sugary sweet indie
pop I've ever heard, so if anything I have to at least give
these guys a dash of credit for doing it a bit louder and
faster than their fellow countrymen. You should
consider doing the same. LEON will be putting out the
band's debut, Scrapbook, overseas next month.

Alice Group - The Dusk Line:
I stumbled upon this the other day on Pitchfork and
instantly fell in love with its simple, yet beautiful
arrangement and fantastic vocals. The guy who wrote
the piece on them noted that they're usually a little all
over the place with their sound, so I'm certainly curious to
see what else awaits me on the upcoming EP that this is the
title track of. Expect to see it on store shelves on
June 17 via The Social Registry.
:We
Versus The Shark - Hello Blood:
The first minute and a half of this may immediately turn
some of you off, but if you give it until the vocals quickly
chime in over the semi-thrashing that's going on in the
background I think you might find something that's worth
remembering. If not, then at least take solace in the
fact that you probably needed a good kick to the teeth
anyways. Hello Sir Records will release Dirty
Versions on July 1.
:The
Wet Secrets - Grow Your Own Fucking Mustache, Asshole:
I realize it's going to be hard for you to not love this
song solely because of the title, but if you can I would
recommend at least trying to appreciate the nifty mix of
sounds that surround the witty lyrics. Of course, this
isn't necessary until you've gotten all of that smirking out
of your system. Rock Fantasy will be out May 13
courtesy of Six Shooter Records.
