It isn't too often that artists go the way of video before they release a song to get the kids excited, but that's exactly what Mates Of State did this week with the first single off of their upcoming full length, Re-Arrange Us.  I think it's a great way to make people check out what was done in the video, but at the end of the day I'm all about the downloadable track for all to hear.  So, after some searching I located said treasure at Yellow Stereo (who got it from Music For Kids Who Don't Read Good), and now I can make your hump day all that much better.  The duo's second release for Barsuk Records isn't due out until May 20, so feel free to listen to the song below on repeat until then.  I know that's my plan.  Enjoy.

:Mates Of State - Get Better:  While most people have spent quite a bit of time championing Mates Of State for their catchy pop songs and/or cute songwriting, I've been most impressed with how their sound evolves from one album to the next.  They always have me curious to see what else they've come up with and, as is the case with this beautifully crafted gem, it works in keeping them fresh in this crazy head of mine.  I couldn't possibly be more excited now to hear the new album.

Here is the previously mentioned video for Get Better.  I've watched it a few times trying to figure out the connection between a masked suicide bomber, party-goers and synchronized dancing, but nothing has managed to click.  Anyone got any ideas?
