When the Austin vs Seattle
excitement that took place here at SOTO over the weekend wasn't causing me
to chuckle, I was spending some time pouring over a couple of new tracks
from Electric President. I've been a fan of Ben Cooper and Alex Kane's
work under that moniker for awhile now, so their upcoming full length,
Sleep Well, is certainly a record that I'm very much looking forward to.
Unfortunately, I just happen to come across said tunes, and I can't seem to
find an actual release date or anything. I'm roughly 87% sure it will
be later this year via Morr Music (a great label, if you didn't already
know), but I wouldn't bet a child on it. So, for now you'll just have
to be content with the gem below and the fact that one day you might get to
own a physical copy of it. Enjoy.

President - It's Like A Heartbeat, Only It Isn't:
Before you download and adore you should really consider
getting out a nice pair of headphones. Ben and Alex
tend to make the kind of music that's all about mood, and I
think it works quite a bit better if you eliminate anything
that might keep you from devoting your full attention to its
lush arrangement and soothing vocals. On the other
hand, if electro-pop perfection automatically captivate you
anyways then my recommendation is to just turn it up and let
it fill the room with awesome.
I believe I've
posted this video for Insomnia before, so if it seems
familiar then that would by why. Though, whether
you've seen it or not it's one rather interesting spectacle
of oddness that's deserving of a quick four minutes of your
time.
