Yesterday I took a few moments to check out new Weezer and Scarlett Johansson.  Now, considering the fact that I wrote Rivers and Co. off after Make Believe I was convinced that the movie star would come through.  Nope, she's terrible.  Weezer is where it's at!  I'll happily share that track as soon as I'm sure the RIAA won't try to have me assassinated.  Until then, let's talk Lykke Li.  I've already had one of her sugary sweet tunes in a podcast a couple of months back, but since she currently has a new video and a new song to pour over I decided to show some continued support.  The Swedish songbird will be releasing an EP titled Little Bit here in the US next month on her own imprint, LL Recordings.  Mark your calendars!  Enjoy.

:Lykke Li - Dance Dance Dance:  I can't even begin to describe to you how wildly distracting this song is.  I mean, it doesn't really do much of anything that I haven't heard before, and yet I've still found myself lost in it for large chunks of time without even realizing it.  Oddly enough, this loss of concentration isn't actually caused by Lykke Li's stellar voice, but by the dancehall horns and vintage-tinged vocals that show up once the tune's steady pace begins to make you wonder if that's all there is to the thing.  Who knew she could be so tricky?

This isn't even a live performance and it still manages to bum me out that I wasn't able to see her at SXSW.  I think it has something to do with the dancing.  At any rate, this is that new piece I spoke of.  It was made for the gem that is I'm Good, I'm Gone.  You can find it on her album, Youth Novels, which is only out in Sweden right now.
