Have you guys checked out the
lineup
for this year's Austin City Limits? It's almost stellar enough to get me excited
about blistering heat and feet obliteration. Ok, not really, but there
won't be anything that will stop me from attending and melting away with my
camera and note pad. Call it my gift to you. Or something.
Speaking of you, someone out there who has read a post or two recently sent
me a record from an act called Bombadil with a note attached saying that I
would probably like them if I liked Langhorne Slim. Well, they were
right, and now I'm making sure that you're all on board as well. The
North Carolina-based quartet will be releasing A Buzz, A Buzz on
April 29 by way of Ramseur Records. Enjoy.

- A Buzz, A Buzz:
First of all, you should know that despite their
similarities I went with the song on the album that sounds
least like Langhorne Slim. This gem clocks in at a
little over five minutes and is loaded with a crazy amount
of passion in the arrangement and the vocals, which makes
for an almost epic listen. Slap on some headphones and
get ready for something you won't soon forget.
There's
something strange about the way this performance of the guys
performing Three Saddest Words is shot, but I can't quite
put my finger on it. Still, the song is pretty good,
so at least give it a listen or two if you decide to not
watch the awkwardness of the video.
