If you remember, yesterday I mentioned that it would be great if I could add Akron/Family to the lineup for the upcoming Fun Fun Fun Fest.  Well, today I have Celebration, who are actually on the bill for the Austin-based festival and will not need me throwing out a big hint to the guys putting on the event.  I've actually seen the Baltimore trio play before, but it was in an opening slot for TV On The Radio and they were only on stage for about 30 minutes because of various delays.  Needless to say, it was rather disappointing.  But, now the band has a new album and a tour that stretches through the end of November.  I'd say that's plenty of time for me to fall in love with them all over again.  Modern Tribe, the band's sophomore LP, is due out October 9 via 4AD Records.  Enjoy.

:Celebration - Tame The Savage:  If the sprawling arrangement, which consists of simplistic drumming, psychedelic guitars and an organ, doesn't bowl you over then for sure Katrina Ford's husky voice will certainly do the trick.  I honestly can't quit listening once her mouth opens and the words start to ooze out; it's terribly inconvenient.  Though, I'm not in a position to say it's a real problem, as I could listen to this intricate piece on repeat for a long time.

:Celebration - Evergreen:  If I'm not mistaken this song has been floating around online for a month or two, so it's a good bet that some of you have been pouring over it for awhile.  I don't necessarily find it to be as enthralling as the song above, but I do think it's a gem that has a wonderfully elaborate arrangement and, of course, stellar vocal work.  I also really like its steady pace since it makes the track a bit more accessible for those of you who prefer things to be a little tighter.
